It was made in the 80's and was the standard issue for police and FBI. I found the model in the same place as your picture above. The guy whom I bought the gun from didn't know where the model was! Anything is possible, I suppose. Is this a possibly? The number under the cylinder is the Model Number. Note it begins with an "M" The serial number is under the grip. Those may interest you: I need to know the approx.

Help finding Model number of my revolver. Attached Images Left side revolver. It is not a model 19, which have adjustable sights and a shroud for the ejector rod. It is probably a model You should be able to find the model number by opening the cylinder and looking at the area on the frame that the crane closes against.

There are pre model guns created before the model numbers where established, but with those grips and that serial number I don't think your gun is any where near that old. You can probably get the missing cylinder latch and nut from Midway USA or Numerich as well as other places.

Occasionally the factory will forget to stamp a model number; unusual but it happens. The AJY serial number prefix puts its production in the summer to fall of Hope this is helpful. Thank you to all.
