The Vixia is effectively a grey import in Australia, I should think. Thank you very much Andrew that makes it clear, it is a shame that the legria is the right one for Australia as with the great US exchange rate the Vixia is almost half the price of the Legria, Andrew can you please advise me as to what l wouldn't be able to do with the vixia here in Aus, thank you for your help.
There's nothing you wouldn't be able to do with the Vixia, compared with the Legria. Pretty much all HDTVs and definitely all computers will happily play either 50i or 60i video. The only potential shortcoming would be if you decided to convert the HD source video to standard definition DVD for playback on DVD players that can only play video at 25 frames per second i.
